Gayle Merchant is a highly respected Functional Medicine Practitioner, Naturopath and Nutritional Therapist who has gained notoriety for her clinical precision and knowledge, having trained under Jo Gamble (our Head of Functional Testing) for 10 years.
Gayle has built a reputation for providing real solutions, particularly in situations where clients are experiencing complex health issues and have struggled to find meaningful answers through conventional routes. Her ability to identify subtle connections, interpret nuanced patterns in a client’s history, and translate them into clear, actionable health strategies makes her one of our most trusted practitioners.
What distinguishes Gayle is not only her depth of knowledge but her ability to communicate complex information with warmth, clarity and confidence. She brings together deep understanding with an approach that helps clients feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their health journey.
Alongside her clinical practice, Gayle is recognised for her contribution to the field, writing articles, offering community teaching, and contributing to client resources that help demystify health issues for a wider audience.
For clients navigating long-standing health issues, thyroid dysfunction, autoimmunity, or cases that have eluded clear answers, Gayle offers rare expertise, a deeply thorough approach, and actionable solutions.

Gayle’s formal training reflects both the breadth and depth she brings to her practice. She is a dual-trained practitioner, holding Diplomas in both Naturopathy and Nutritional Therapy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM), where she trained extensively in clinical nutrition, systems biology and therapeutic dietary interventions. Her commitment to clinical excellence led her to further study with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), an internationally recognised leader in functional medicine education. Through this training, she completed advanced modules in Gastrointestinal Health (GI), Hormone Health, Immune Health, Bioenergetics, Environmental Health and more. She has also gained a Level 3 Certification in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping), adding depth to her understanding of the interplay between physiology and psycho-emotional experiences.
Gayle continues to refine her skills through ongoing professional development, advanced functional testing training and specialist education, ensuring her work remains aligned with current, evidence-based approaches in personalised healthcare. She holds professional registrations with the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP), the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
