“What I love about Emotional Freedom Technique is that you don’t need to believe for it to work — It’s a results oriented practice.”
When we experience emotional distress from past or present events, it’s easy to think that the experience itself is the source of our discomfort. However, EFT offers a different perspective— the real issue often lies in how the body stores emotional responses, rather than the event itself. The mind-body connection—especially how the body retains emotional responses—can disrupt energy flow, leading to emotional and physical challenges such as anxiety, depression, and chronic tension.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), commonly known as "tapping," combines cognitive reframing with acupressure (or somatic tapping) to help the body process and release trapped emotions. By working with the mind and body, EFT restores energy flow, relieves tension and promotes better mental and physical wellbeing.
EFT is a gentle, evidence-based, intervention that has been shown to improve mental and physical wellbeing in children and adults alike (Bach et al, 2019).
Children live naturally in the present— they don’t get caught up in the “why”, they simply want to feel better now. This makes EFT especially beneficial for young people, offering a gentle yet effective way to release emotional tension and anxiety without the need for emotionally demanding talk therapy.
However, children exist within the context of their family, which means a tailored approach is essential. We offer EFT sessions for under 18s, provided their parent or guardian is committed to undergoing their own separate EFT sessions alongside their child.
By working together with children and their guardians, we can ensure shared progress, address inter-relational dynamics, and achieve better outcomes. Take the first step today with a free, no-obligation call to explore how this transformative approach can support your family.

Dafni is an intuitive, trauma-informed EFT practitioner who understands the impact of chronic stress and emotional overwhelm. After experiencing burnout and anxiety from a high-stress career at JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, Dafni found profound healing through EFT. Now trained at the EFT & Matrix Reimprinting Academy, she’s further expanding her expertise with the Golden Standard EFT Tapping Certification and Optimal EFT Certification under Gary Craig, the founder of the method. Dafni’s extensive personal and professional experience enables her to safely support clients to release trauma, anxiety, and stress, guiding them toward lasting emotional and physical relief.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) is a powerful, flexible tool that can support a wide range of emotional, mental, and physical health concerns. Backed by clinical evidence for its effectiveness in treating anxiety, PTSD, and phobias, EFT is also showing promising results in studies exploring its use for depression, chronic pain, IBS, and sleep problems.
Clients often turn to EFT for support with everyday challenges and deeper emotional issues alike—whether that’s eating disorders, OCD, sexual trauma, grief, parenting stress or persistent negative self-talk. It’s particularly helpful when emotions feel overwhelming or begin to interfere with day-to-day life.
Beyond emotional wellbeing, EFT may also benefit stress-sensitive physical conditions. There’s increasing recognition of the link between the nervous system and conditions like autoimmune disease, digestive issues, headaches, migraines, and fibromyalgia—all of which may respond positively to calming, mind-body approaches like tapping.
While EFT is not a substitute for medical care, it’s a valuable self-regulation technique that many people find transformative. Whether you’re navigating physical symptoms with an emotional root, healing past experiences, or simply looking for more balance and resilience, EFT can be a supportive part of your healing process.
Online EFT works in much the same way as in-person sessions—just from the comfort of your own space. You’ll meet with your practitioner on a Zoom video call, where they’ll guide you through the process of somatic tapping. You’ll be shown where and how to tap on specific acupressure points on your own face and body while focusing on the thoughts, emotions, or memories that are coming up.
Your practitioner will help you identify what to work on, gently explore underlying patterns or experiences, and support you in tapping through emotional intensity. Because EFT is a self-applied technique, it translates beautifully to online sessions—giving you the same benefits without needing to travel.
EFT Tapping is a results oriented practice and clients often report feeling calmer, clearer, and more grounded after the very first session. For deeper issues like trauma, long-held beliefs, or chronic patterns, a series of sessions may be needed to create lasting change. Although everyone responds differently, most people can expect a noticeable shift in their baseline stress and anxiety levels after four sessions. Although EFT can work quickly, clients often choose to continue their sessions to explore other issues or deepen their practice.
Our standard EFT session is 90 minutes long, but if somebody doesn’t have the energy levels to go through a 90 minute session, Dafni will advise the 60 minute session instead. This will be discussed after the initial consultation.
EFT is a well-studied, safe, and effective intervention for treating PTSD and Complex PTSD in both adults and children. In fact, UK NICE guidelines recognize EFT as one of the top four most effective trauma interventions. Originally developed to help war veterans manage PTSD, EFT’s profound initial results quickly led to its wider application among the general public.
A growing body of clinical research supports EFT’s effectiveness in reducing hallmark PTSD symptoms—such as flashbacks, hypervigilance, anxiety, and emotional numbness. By gently assisting the nervous system in processing traumatic memories without forcing you to relive or retell every detail, EFT provides a compassionate alternative to more confrontational therapies. Notably, clinical studies have shown that EFT can reduce cortisol levels—often elevated in those with PTSD—by up to 24%.
Anecdotally, many practitioners now view EFT as one of the most effective treatments for PTSD, and the NHS frequently applies EFT as a complementary intervention for trauma-related conditions.

Both EFT and EMDR are somatic therapies that focus on stress and trauma release. The key difference is that EFT is often more gentle and adaptable, incorporating techniques like the Tearless Trauma Technique and the Movie Technique, which allow clients to process difficult memories without becoming overwhelmed.
These approaches help reduce emotional intensity safely and gradually, making EFT especially suitable for those with complex or early trauma. Dafni can explain the differences in more detail and help you decide if EFT is right for you during a free discovery call.
EFT is a gentle, safe technique with no reported side effects or contraindications, making it ideal for both adults and children. It doesn’t require talking in detail about difficult experiences, which is especially helpful for children who may struggle to express how they feel. Many children respond quickly to EFT and enjoy the tapping process. As a results oriented practice, is can be an efficient and effective intervention for children.
During your free discovery call, Dafni will guide you and your child through a short demo so you can experience it for yourself and decide if it’s the right fit.
