Unlike standard PCR or culture-based testing, NGS sequencing provides a much broader and more comprehensive picture of the vaginal microbiome. It can identify microorganisms at species level, including organisms present in lower abundances that standard testing methods may miss.
ALL Lactobacillus (Protective bacteria) Present in the Sample: Lactobacillus bacteria are generally considered protective and play an important role in supporting vaginal microbiome balance and reproductive health. Examples include: Lactobacillus crispatus, Lactobacillus jensenii, Lactobacillus gasseri and Lactobacillus iners.
ALL Commensal & Pathogenic Bacteria Present in the Sample: These bacteria may be associated with infection or symptomatic changes to the reproductive organs. Examples include: Mycoplasma species, Gardnerella vaginalis, Streptococcus species, Prevotella species, and Atopobium vaginae

We’ll ensure you’re seen by the right practitioner when your results are in. You can purchase a consultation later if you choose standalone testing, but we offer preferential rates for booking upfront.
